Overview
Facebook Messenger is often the first place customers reach out when they find your business on Facebook. With Asistian, those conversations are captured the moment they arrive, complete with delivery and read receipts so you always know the status of each message. AI assistants handle common questions immediately, and your team can take over whenever a conversation needs a personal touch.Prerequisites
Before connecting Facebook Messenger, make sure you have:- A Facebook Business Page (a personal Facebook profile is not supported)
- Admin access to the Facebook Page you want to connect
- A Meta Business account with the Page under its management is recommended for teams managing multiple assets

Data Asistian receives from Facebook Messenger
When a customer messages your Facebook Page, Asistian receives the following information:- Facebook user ID — a unique identifier for the customer within Facebook
- Profile name — the customer’s Facebook display name
- Profile picture — the customer’s current Facebook profile photo
- Message content — the full text of each message
- Timestamps — when each message was sent
- Delivery and read receipts — confirmation that your messages were delivered and opened by the customer
How conversations appear in the unified inbox
Each Messenger conversation appears as a thread in your Asistian inbox, labeled with your Facebook Page channel name. The customer’s profile name and picture are shown so your team can identify who they’re speaking with at a glance. Conversations are sorted by most recent activity alongside your WhatsApp and Instagram threads. From the unified inbox you can assign conversations to team members, add internal notes, apply labels, and view the full message history — including delivery and read receipt status for every outgoing message.Your use of Facebook Messenger through Asistian is subject to Meta’s Platform Terms and the Facebook Page Policies. All data received from Messenger is processed in accordance with these terms. Asistian does not use Messenger data for advertising or share it with third parties outside the scope of providing the service to your business. Review Meta’s policies to ensure your messaging practices remain compliant.
